Takarazuka Review

The Takarazuka Review is a all woman stage group that performs spectacular musicals and the like. They have been going since 1914 and a very popular,  especially it the Japanese female population.
I caught one of their shows last night, which went around three hours and consisted of two complete musical plays and ended with a song and dance routine. The plays are incredibly polished and the acting is spot on. The women who perform the male roles are totally believable as men, even though they do look to pretty but that's one of the things that the Japanese seem to like. Even the stage was a work of art with the way the set changes were done,
The first play was a mythical Japanese tale while the second one was about Leonardo da Vinci younger days. Both are performed in Japanese  and did get a little confusing at times, especially since both involved things happening at different points in time.
They are popular as the show was sold out and the first (ground) floor has seats for over 1500 and there two or three balcony floors as well.
